The Neil Shafer Distinguished Service Award

 
In 2019, the Milwaukee Numismatic Society established a new award to be bestowed upon members who have rendered exceptional service to the club and to the hobby of numismatics in general.

The award is named for MNS Honorary Life Member Neil Shafer.  Neil is a renowned scholar, author, exhibitor, and award-winner.  He is an expert in several fields in numismatics, including world paper money and Philippine currency.  The MNS is fortunate to have him as a member and frequent contributor to our monthly meetings.
